Sitting watching the cricket today while going through my archive of recorded Dj sets, i stumbled across a recording from NYE 08/09. I flicked through the set in 5 or 10 minute bursts, jumping from track to track, trying to remember the antics of the night. I got about four hours (out of 8 ) into the recording when suddenly i started to get flashes of memory…. I think Tim must have been playing, when he was joined behind the decks by Sanji, then by me, then by moto… More record bags than a swap meet.

This is not a rare occurrence by any means, these particular dj’s have always had great relationships and never had a problem with a good ol jam, especially on a night like new years eve. It’s a great party atmosphere when you’ve got 4 nobheads behind the turnies going bananas and pulling out all their favorite party tunes.

So i took a little hour long snippet and thought i’d share it with the people :-)

I have to warn all listeners that when you have four people behind a small dj booth there can be some needle bumping and distracted mixing… ESPECIALLY on a night like new years ..Say no more

Enjoy!!

This is a recording from their recent show at Cuckoo which they played on the dance floor because they had far to much gear to fit behind the Dj console.

Awesome stuff from our mates down at Dragonfly, they have a great tempo in this set, very stripped back, lots of space with focus on good sounds and rhythms.

Some people might point out that it has been longer than a week since we started the site, and i did say that sets would be updated weekly…. But we have one now so hold those comments till i miss a month or so   :-D

Cuckoo Music Vol. 3  is by our good friend George Gypsy, who we first met at our young Dj comp. I think he impressed all who attended that night with his tight mixing and top tracks.

I really enjoyed listening to this mix, hearing his take on what’s going on in the world of House. George clearly keeps on top of new music, always playing plenty of stuff that’s news to me.

Love to hear peoples thoughts on this one, as most of you wouldn’t have heard him play before. Post away!
