Who woulda thunk it….

Here we are at our 5th birthday, many might have thought it wouldn’t have come this far (well we knew it would… haters)
Its been an amazing ride so far, many great parties have slowly transformed our dance floor from a sturdy structure, into what could now be described as a spring board… Acts like Frivolous and Mathew Jonson bringing half their studio in and blowing our minds with their live mayhem.
The Sidewalk shows, gave whiplash to many a neck.
Techphonics gracing us with the likes of Dj Bold and Alex Smoke…
Nighttime Drama repping Berghain like we were in the motherland!
We were blessed to have the Album launches for some of our finest exports like HMC, The Carter Bros and Oisima.
These selected highlights are just a snippet, there are many more! We have been privileged to have an amazing support of Artists and promoters around us and not least our loyal customers that come in week in week out!

So without further rant…. Our fifth birthday is going to be one to remember!
We will be Joined by one of Australia’s finest House Producer / Dj’s Tornado Wallace! Known for his great journey sets, it seems perfect that he be the one help us celebrate this occasion.

Support from our tried and tested locals, Our Backbone The Carter Bros vs Sanjii and 12″Phildo.

Love to see you there for a hug :)

Why??   Why Not?

Its cooler, it free’s up your legs for manoeuvrability, you dont dirty up your new slacks…
It might take some convincing, but you’ll come around. Leave those inhibitions at home, pack your best undies and wax the bikini line.

2013 is well and truly under way, and its shaping up to be an exciting year!
So much happening in our little A-Town right now and its ridiculously inspiring! For our first party this year we’re welcoming two lads into the family. Sleep D, haling from across the border have been pumping out some great music in recent times and running some very swift warehouse shindigs. Added to that they run ‘Butter Sessions’, a blog dedicated to pushing the beautiful electronic music we love. Very excited to have them on board.

Our local legends to boot… The Carter Bros, Martin Regan, Fission Theory & 12″ Phildo.

Support the local outlet :-D

One of Cuckoo’s favorite house producers heads to Australia for the first time!Soulphiction (Michel Baumann) runs one of the most consistent, underground record labels around – Philpot / Phil e. The music touches on a mixture of, Deep Techno and Moody House with a sprinkling of acid. Think of a classic Chicago acid house record, melted down and poured into a bowl of deep Berlin Techno, add a touch of Jazz and Soul and your starting to get the flavor.Their label tagline, ‘Thanks for purchasing a real copy’ says a lot for how they run their operation. A strong passion for their favorite median, and an obvious confidence in the quality of the product they offer. Growing up on a heavy dose of hip-hop, Michel moved to four-four music in the early 90′s. Taking in plenty of influence from Chicago. His output of music since the late 90′s has not only been through his own labels, but on an array of other German imprints, such as, Sonar Kollektiv, Pampa, Perlon, Playhouse, Dessous, Poker Flat and Morris Audio to name a few!

We strongly recommend if you haven’t heard of this man, YOU NEED TO GET ACQUAINTED!!

A great place to start would be his ridiculous RA Mix –

Rick Wade has been at the forefront of late night Detroit house for over 15 years. His universal appeal in different areas of electronic music has seen him release on over 20 different labels world wide. Rick’s productions are the first point of call for beautiful house music, tapping into the essence of deepness, with rich melodies and timeless grooves.

In 1993 Rick started Harmonie Park with the legendary Dan Bell, a label focused on House music. Then in 1995 Rick launched Bass Force primarily as an outlet for the Booty / Bass material that he records under the ‘Big Daddy Rick’ moniker.
Until recently, Harmonie Park releases have been very hard to come by, and for that reason, HIGHLY sort after! Now, Thanks to Hardwax in Berlin, the catalogue has been re-released on brandspanking new wax :-) This has really re-introduced Rick’s music to another generation of House lovers who may not have otherwise heard the classics!

He is well regarded for his Dj sets, starting off as a radio DJ in the late 80′s spinning classic Disco and deep house. This gained him attention from various producers and Djs around the U.S who loved his selections and mixing ability.

Today, Rick Wade enjoys a reputation as one of the premier House mixshow producers in the world and anyone who likes deep, funky vibes should definitely find a chance to see him play live. Every Rick Wade set is fresh and spontaneous. Drawing its energy directly from the unique vibe of each party, Rick exposes the crowd, taking the vibe to an emotional peak where it merges with the body, mind, and spirit into a continuous musical orgasm that lasts long after his set is over.

A mixture of old and new tunes that I’ve been lucky enough to grab over the last few months, plus one or two that were already in the bags for a while. Mostly on a house tip, plenty of big thumbs up to Detroit, nothing unusual there, it is the 25 anniversary of Detroit techno (house?) coming up real soon.. So i had to give a large nod to the innovators of the beautiful sound.

Please enjoy responsibly
